Love Letters from Women that Came Before You:
My first retreat was with a group of women I had never met before. Despite the unfamiliarity, Jolana made everyone feel comfortable and at ease and created an empowering atmosphere that became more than just an event. We shared our goals with each other and connected over mutual support and self care.
As a busy mom juggling work, family and the endless stressors of life, I had unintentionally put myself on the back burner for years. Like many women I felt like I lost touch with myself and who I was. I was hesitant at first to invest in a retreat, but it was one of the most rewarding decision I had made for myself in a really long time. Afterwards I felt strong, confident and comfortable in my own skin, which is huge for someone who had felt disconnected from her own sexuality for a very long time. It’s a very empowering feeling embracing that side that I had forgotten or lost for a while.
I am grateful to have had an opportunity to participate in a group boudoir session with some fabulous, strong, beautiful women! It was such a powerful yet vulnerable experience. An experience where women admired you while you admired them.
There were so many relatable moments with these women and those moments made me feel included and supported. It was such a comforting experience to know that I was not alone and that there were women around me (some that I just met for the first time), rooting for me to love myself on this journey of self love. I encourage all women to experience something like this. Find the time, it’s worth it.

Think you need a “certain kind of body” to do a boudoir shoot? Think again.
Every woman featured below is a mom—of different ages, shapes, sizes, and seasons of life. None of them are models. All of them showed up with nerves. And every single one left feeling powerful, beautiful, and fully seen. These images are proof that you don’t need to change a thing about yourself to be worthy of celebration.
At this retreat, we will be celebrating our bodies with a lingerie party, during which we will photograph you, so you can see the beauty and strength everyone else sees (we provide the poses, you just need to bring yourself!)!
Your FAQs….Answered!
What are the sleeping arrangements?
We’re staying in a beautiful, cozy home in the Catskill Mountains with bunk-bed style accommodations. Think summer camp energy—but way more luxurious (and no one’s making you do dishes). Expect late-night chats, shared laughs, and your own comfy space. There are 2 full bathrooms available in the house, with an additional 3rd full bathroom available steps away in the yoga room.
I feel guilty leaving my kids for a weekend.
That’s normal. Most of the women who come feel that at first.
But three days away doesn’t damage your bond — it strengthens it.
You return calmer. Clearer. More patient. More like yourself.
And your children get to see a mother who values her own wellbeing.
This gives her emotional validation right before checkout.
Are all meals covered?
All meals except one are covered! On Saturday night, we’ll go out to a local restaurant as a group. We’ll treat you to shared appetizers, and you’ll cover your own entrée + drinks if you’d like them.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
We’ve got you. You’ll fill out a short form before the retreat so we can accommodate any dietary needs, preferences, or allergies with love and care.
Do my kids have to be of a certain age for me to Join?
No! This is open to moms in all stages of their lives. Whether you still have kiddos running around in diapers, or are an empty nester, this retreat is for you!
I don’t know anyone going. Will I feel awkward?
Not for long. This retreat is intentionally intimate (just 11 attendees) and carefully crafted to help you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. You’ll leave with connections—and friendships—you didn’t know you needed.
Can I come late or leave early if I have other obligations?
Life happens! While we hope you’ll be able to experience the full retreat, we understand that Friday arrival may be tricky. That evening is designed to be more casual so latecomers won’t miss any of the core programming.
Do I need to have experience with boudoir or feel confident in front of a camera?
Not at all! Most women who join us have never done anything like this before. You’ll be fully guided through each pose during your Confidence Portrait Experience—no modeling skills required. And you’ll be surrounded by women cheering you on the whole way. It’s about confidence, not perfection.
What should I wear for the boudoir photos?
Whatever makes you feel good. That might be lingerie, a cozy robe, a tank and undies, or even a favorite oversized sweater. You’ll get prep tips before the retreat, and we’ll help you choose what feels most empowering once you’re here.
Natalie has a unique understanding of how the body works. She creates an atmosphere that is welcoming and empowering. With her ability to help you understand how your body works, she will help you feel strong, confident, and motivated!
Eleni is very knowledgeable and empowering! The biggest takeaway from working with her was learning how to lean into my responsive desire. She helped me to understand that if I worked on finding my turn ons, and keep them intentionally in my mind, it could really help to ignite some desire when the time came for intimacy. This concept helped me to understand that there is nothing wrong with me, and this is so normal for all people, especially women. I also love how she framed this work as an act of “self-love”.

I’m Jolana! I am the Owner of The PHOTOGRAPHY Experience, and the host of this retreat!
And my life goal is to Eat, Hike, and Photograph my way around the world, all while empowering everyone I meet… not necessarily in that order :P!
Let me start off by saying that I’m a huge goof. I love anything food and travel related, am a little too sarcastic for my own good, and am a huge optimist. I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie: Give me heights, rock climbing, new experiences, crazy local foods, and a camera to capture it all with. Outside of photography, I am a writer, and am actually a published author for a book of poems I created with a close friend of mine titled….you ready for this? “Tales from the Toilet: A collection of Poems.” Yes, you read that right. I am also currently working on a novel!
I am a sucker for Human Connection. I truly believe that is our purpose here on this planet, and my purpose is to capture it. To capture those awe-inspiring moments, to remind us how we felt in a specific moment of time, and to show others the emotions we cannot express otherwise.
I also believe it is up to us to help preserve this beautiful planet of ours, and to soak in all the wonders this planet has to offer. Getting to combine these two things… well… I couldn’t ask for a better job <3
